American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) has nearly 370,000
members in 128 countries, making it the world's largest association representing the
accounting profession. There are many areas of practice represented in the AICPA; accounting
students and CPA candidates may also be members. The AICPA also develops and grades
the Uniform CPA Examination and sets ethical standards for the profession and U.S.
auditing standards for audits of private companies, non-profit organizations, federal,
state and local governments.
California Society of Certified Public Accountants
CalCPA efforts supports its members in being viewed as leaders in professional competency
and integrity by clients, employers, the public and government officials. CalCPA advocates
for members on issues that affect the accounting profession and also promotes and
enhances the visibility of the profession. The site is a resource for personal and
professional development.
Institute of Management Accountants
IMA’s website provides a forum for research, knowledge sharing, practice development,
education, and the advocacy of the highest ethical and best business practices in
finance and management accounting. The Institute offers the CMA, a rigorous, highly
respected credential, and promotes industry best practices. It also provides extensive
education programs to advance professional knowledge, increase leadership potential,
and satisfy CPE requirements.
American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers
The American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers deliver high-quality continuing
education for professional bookkeepers, provides job opportunities on a free jobs
site devoted to the bookkeeping profession exclusively, and keeps bookkeepers current
on revisions to federal and state laws, regulations and procedures. They also provide
online forums for exchange of information, ideas and help between professional bookkeepers.
National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers
NACPB provides bookkeeping tips and alerts, continuing professional education, tools,
and support public bookkeepers need to provide public bookkeeping services more efficiently
and effectively. The organization helps to protect and assure the public that members
are trusted and competent by offering nationally recognized public bookkeeper certifications
and licenses. Public bookkeepers use these accreditations to gain a competitive edge
by distinguishing themselves from other public bookkeepers.
National Society of Tax Professionals
The National Society of Tax Professionals(NSTP) is a non-profit organization founded
in 1985, dedicated to "Serving the Tax Professional". Members enjoy discounts and
special offers by many providers with goods and services designed for the tax professional.
The IRS seeks out members for their experience and expertise whenever new initiatives
or programs are being reviewed.
