Health Sciences
The Health Sciences Program is responsible for supervising and scheduling all classes offered in nursing, medical assisting, and dental assisting as well as monitoring and coordinating the use of program classrooms and laboratory equipment by program personnel and students.
The department is also responsible for compliance with rules and regulations of the nursing (LVN and RN), Dental Boards of Examiners and of the Department of Health Services, as applied to the appropriate programs. The program coordinates selection of students and requisitioning of supplies, equipment, textbooks and library materials, as well as preparation of all course syllabi for the nursing and allied health programs.
Other responsibilities include selection of appropriately qualified faculty as outlined by the Boards of Nursing and other entities' statutes. The Dean of Health Sciences is directly responsible for supervision of each program, faculty, students, and curricula as mandated by the appropriate board.
