Work Experience Opportunities

Our program works with nearly every automotive service dealership in the area and most have current or former students working for them.  As one local service manager states:

“We and the other local automotive dealerships are recruiting new employees directly from this training program. We prefer Allan Hancock College automotive graduates because of their proven skills and give employment priority to the college’s top students. We do this for one simple reason: Allan Hancock College has an excellent automotive training facility and its students are well-prepared.”

Students can receive credit on the job through the Career Work Experience (CWE) courses and the staff and faculty work to see that employers and students connect when job opportunities open up. For qualified students,  tools are available to borrow while they are enrolled in the CWE courses.

Auto Body & Automotive Tech

"The education, knowledge, and hands-on experience I received here allowed me to discover and fuel my passion for cars. Eric Mason and the other auto body and automotive technology instructors pushed and inspired me to pursue a career in the industry. I was recently promoted to a full body technician in less than two years, which is half the time it usually takes. I credit Hancock for giving me the tools and confidence to succeed in the field, especially as a woman. I used what I learned at Hancock on a daily basis."
