Energy Safety Orientation and Training
Allan Hancock College provides high quality health, safety, and environmental orientation and training specifically
designed to reduce worksite injuries and fatalities across a wide-variety of industries.
Our offerings are accredited by PEC (www.pecsafety.com), a national organization that works to standardize safety and skills training within
the oil and gas industries.
The college is an advising member to the Far Western Chapter of the National STEPS Network (www.nationalstepsnetwork.org). This organization brings industry representatives together with regulatory agencies
to consult and provide feedback on current and proposed local, state, and national
energy policies and regulations. Both the chapter and parent organization strive for
incident-free operations in the service, transmission, exploration, and production
of oil and gas energy sectors. Membership is also open to trade associations, educators,
and first responders.
Upon successful completion of the orientation and training opportunities accredited
by PEC, individuals will receive certificates and be entered into an electronically
accessible database that is linked to a personal photo identification card. This card
can be presented to potential or current employers to verify or document training

Cal Poly SLO, Aerospace Engineering
I excelled in math and science in school, so engineering was the right fit and I just had to figure out how to get it done. Throughout high school, I took courses at Allan Hancock College (AHC), and graduated as my high school valedictorian. I then attended AHC in search of a smooth transition to a university. I was able to take my lower division engineering courses and form a great relationship with my professors. While at AHC, I received multiple scholarships form the Allan Hancock Foundation, Santa Barbara Foundation, and MESA-NSF Scholarship. I then attended California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, to pursue an aerospace engineering degree. After just one year at Cal Poly, I was accepted into one of the most prestigious internship programs that NASA offers, the Aeronautics Academy.
