Welcome to Distance Learning!

The mission of Distance learning at Allan Hancock College is to provide quality online instruction that offers our students convenient, flexible opportunities to enhance learning in multiple modalities and styles that aid our diverse student body in achieving their educational goals.

Distance learning classes at Allan Hancock College offer the opportunity to earn college credits via the internet. Some distance learning classes require no on-site activities while others require limited on-site attendance, typically orientation, midterms and finals. Go to the class search and click the CRN number for more information.

Online courses are presented online in learning management systems that allow instructors to provide an equivalent learning experience as in traditional face-to-face courses. These systems allow instructors to provide discussions, tests, quizzes, assignments as in traditional courses. It also provides instructors the use technology to provide multiple learning styles for students. Some online courses use video, audio, multimedia software interactive presentations, and more. Allan Hancock uses a learning management system called Blackboard.

The Distance Learning Department at Allan Hancock College provides a variety of services to support students and faculty using Blackboard and related eLearning technologies in the online classroom.

We are dedicated to assisting students and faculty with all aspects of distance learning support and providing services that promote student and faculty success in technology and the online learning environment.

The Distance Learning Department supports hundreds of face-to-face courses using distance learning technology, online, and hybrid, credit courses with many Associate degrees and certificates that can be completed through distance learning.
