Timeline for Presidential Search Process
| 1/16/13 – 3/15/13: | Recruitment period opens to accept applications from qualified candidates for Superintendent/President position |
| 4/5/13 – 4/8/13: | Selected candidates will be invited for an initial interview |
| 4/16/13 – 4/18/13: | Initial interviews will be conducted |
| 4/22/13 – 5/10/13: | Finalists will be interviewed by the Board of Trustees. The District may reimburse candidates invited as finalists for reasonable travel expenses up to $300 for each interview the candidate attends. |
| 5/21/13: | The board appoints a permanent Superintendent/President at their May Board of Trustees meeting to start 7/1/13. |
| 7/1/13 | The new Superintendent/President will assume duties in July 2013. |
History of the college
Allan Hancock College was founded in 1920 when the Santa Maria High School District established Santa Maria Junior College. Classes were held in high school rooms until 1937, when a bond issue passed and a college wing was built on the northwest corner of the high school campus. Read More »
