Kids' Science Curiosity Takes Flight in Summer Classes

Topics include math, engineering, rocketry, astronomy and more.

MAY 19, 2014 -- Kids’ science curiosity can take flight this summer in fun, new learning experiences through Community Education science and rocketry classes for ages 8-15.

Classes include:

Adventures in Math/Engineering/Computer Science, designed for students entering 7th, 8th, and 9th grades in the fall.  Class meets Monday – Thursday, June 16-26, from 9 a.m. to noon on the Santa Maria campus, Room M – 205.

Astronomy and Telescopes Ifor ages 8-11(July 12)and Astronomy and Telescopes IIfor ages12-15 (July 19).  Classes meet on respective Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2:55 p.m. at the Endeavor Center classroom, Bldg. 1, 1145 Mountain View Blvd., Vandenberg AFB.

Rocketry: 3-2-1 Blast Off! for ages 8-11 (June 21) and for ages 12-15 (June 28).  Classes meet on respective Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2:55 p.m. at the Endeavor Center classroom, Bldg. 1, 1145 Mountain View Blvd., Vandenberg AFB.

Fees apply for each class.  Pre-registration is required.  Register in person at Community Education (bldg. S) on the Santa Maria campus.  Registration will not be accepted in class.
