Additional Graduation Requirements

AJ 105 and AJ 111 will transfer as CJAD electives.  Columbia College has a foreign language requirement  (FLR)for graduation for Bachelor of Arts programs.  Students may satisfy this requirement by successfully completing 6 semester units of a single foreign language.  Courses at AHC that meet this requirement are SPAN 101, 102, 103, 104 OR FRENCH 101, 102 OR ITALIAN 101, 102 OR SIGN LANGUAGE 120, 121.  Conversational courses are not acceptable.  Columbia College also offers a two-sequence Foreign Culture course online that will fulfill this requirement.  The FLR may also be satisfied by receiving a letter grade of "C" or higher in 8 semester units of high school foreign language (4 semester units with a letter grade of "C" of higher will fulfill the first course in the language sequence).  To view other ways to satisfy the FLR, visit page 12 at http://www.ccis.edu/nationwide/academics/AHE_catalog/DegreePrograms.pdf.

Admission Tips

Students can transfer up to 81 semester units from a community college. Apply for financial aid between January 1 and March 2 prior to transfer if you can. Start researching scholarships early. It is a good idea to see a Columbia College counselor once you have completed 60 to 65 units. Make sure to petition for GE certification and an associate degree as soon as eligible.
