Trained technicians are in great demand for outstanding job opportunities in all aspects of automotive service and repair. Technicians possessing state licenses such as Smog, Lamp or Brake are in especially high demand.

According to the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office (CCCCO) at; students with a degree in Automotive Technology can more than double their income:

2 years before receiving their Auto Technology Degree:  $17,413 annual salary
2  years after receiving their Auto Technology Degree:  $37,227 annual salary
5 years after receiving their Auto Technology Degree:  $45,729 annual salary

Allan Hancock College's Auto Technology program has current or former students working in every major automotive service dealership in Santa Maria.  In addition, the skills and knowledge gained in our courses have taken students into such diverse fields as aircraft restoration, agricultural equipment repair and maintenance, formula racing and machining of top fuel engine components.
