Program Overview
The associate in science degree and certificate options in auto collision repair at Allan Hancock College will prepare you for a successful career in the auto body and transportation industry.
As a graduate of the auto body technology program, you will have mastered the tools and equipment necessary to repair:
- Collision damage
- Correct structural frame damage
- Prepare vehicle surfaces
- Perform spot and complete paint job repairs
The curriculum at Allan Hancock College addresses emerging technologies to stay competitive in the industry. In just two years you will be trained as an entry level technician with the math, reading, writing, and computer skills needed to succeed in the automotive body and paint repair field.

Employment
According to industry statistics, there is a shortage of about 20,000 auto body technicians per year. This means that 200,000 jobs could become available in the next decade and employment is available in nearly every geographic location. National employment estimates for this occupation as reported by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics show annual salary estimates between $25,075 - 62,973.
